InstructorINTRODUCTION
Adriano Peres de Morais is a Full Professor in the Graduate Program in Electrical Engineering at the Federal University of Santa Maria and the Coordinator of the Real-Time Digital Simulation Laboratory of the Intelligent Networks Institute. His research interests include power system modeling, analysis, and protection. A current focus is on protection issues in the integration of renewables with power systems and new paradigms in the protection of IEC 61850. He has held visiting positions at universities all over the world, including the University of Florida, Gainesville, US during 2005-2006 where he started to work with HIL simulations. Since 2012, he has been involved as a PI/CPI on more than 10 R&D projects with utilities and governmental agencies.
