INTRODUCTION

Fernando Guilherme Kaehler Guarda, Dr. Eng. is currently a full professor at the Santa Maria Technical and Industrial School from the Federal University of Santa Maria. He is a member of the Power Systems Protection and Analysis Lab – LAPES, where currently researches the influence of distributed generation in distribution systems protection, non-hardware based non-technical losses detection methods, identification of partial discharges through ultrasound measurements, and modeling of distribution protective devices for HIL applications. Has experience in electric distribution systems protection, distribution systems reliability, and artificial intelligence applied in distribution systems protection.
