Meet course instructors

André Luís Kirsten was born in Santa Maria, RS, Brazil. He received the B.S., M.S. and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM), Brazil, in 2009, 2011 and 2014, respectively. He is currently an Adjunct Professor with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, UFSC. His research interests are focus on real-time simulation, dual active bridge converters, and power electronics for green hydrogen.

Roberto Francisco Coelho was born in Florianopolis, SC, Brazil. He received the B.S., M.S. and PhD degrees from Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Florianopolis, Brazil, in 2006, 2008 and 2013, respectively. He is currently an Adjunct Professor with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at UFSC. His research interests are focus on modeling and control of power converters, grid-connected inverters, and power electronics for green hydrogen.
